Question Screen Locking Follow
Question Screen Locking is an effective way to ensure Learners engage with your content before moving screens. This is especially useful to ensure Learners answer questions that are mandatory for the course. There are a number of ways to achieve Questions Screen Locking which are detailed here.
OPTION 1. Using Question 'Actions'
Open the Navigation And Tracking settings for the screen & untick the Next / Back options and any other method of navigating away from the screen
Add an Action to the question asset to link to the next screen in the course
Design Tip: This feature works best without Question Feedback or Correct/Incorrect indicators being present. This ensures a smooth transition between screens once the learner has answered the question. To remove Question Feedback and Correct/Incorrect indicators please take the following steps;
Open the course theme settings and ensure the 'Topic Assessments' option is set to OFF
Open the question asset and ensure the feedback Advanced Feedback fields are left blank
OPTION 2. Using 'Unlimited' question attempts
Set the number of attempts on the question to Unlimited
Open the Navigation & Tracking settings for the screen
Add a display condition to the Next option so it only displays once the question has been answered correctly
The Next arrow will only appear once the learner has answered the question correctly
OPTION 3. Using 'Actions' in Question Feedback
Untick the Next button in the screen Navigation & Tracking settings
Specify the number of answer attempts you would like the Learner to have
Highlight the text in the Final Attempt Feedback & Correct Feedback fields and select 'Insert gomo actions'
Add an action to link the text to the next screen in the course
The Learner will either answer the question correctly or use the total number of attempts. When this happens the feedback will appear. If they select the text in the feedback popup they will be directed to the next screen
OPTION 4. Using a Button asset & Display Conditions
Untick the Next button in the screen Navigation & Tracking settings
Specify the number of answer attempts you would like the Learner to have
Add a Button to the screen and rename 'Next'
Add a display condition to the button so it only displays once the question has been answered correctly
Add an action to the Next button so that it links to the next screen
The Next button will only appear once the learner has answered the question correctly
