Subscreens Follow
Subscreens can be used in your Gomo courses to accompany standard screens. They are a great way of focussing the Learner's attention on specific information or providing feedback. Subscreens can also be used with many of the Presentation & Question assets within Gomo
How to add a subscreen to a screen
In the Editor > Right click on a standard screen and select the Add subscreen option
How to edit a subscreen
A subscreen contains a single column Content Block. You can add assets to a subscreen by selecting Assets on the left hand side of the Editor, finding the required asset and dropping this into the Content Block. You can alter how the subscreen will display using the Subscreen Type and Alignment fields
How to link a subscreen to an asset
Subscreens can be linked to assets in two ways:
1. using Actions e.g.
- add a Button asset to a screen
- in the Button Properties select Actions
- add a Show sub-screen action and link it to the subscreen you have created
2. using Question feedback fields
- add a question asset to a screen
- open the question asset, set the Feedback field to be Advanced and select the subscreen
Notes
- It is not possible to manually alter height of subscreen
- Don't include any asset in a subscreen which also contains subscreens e.g. Filmstrip, Carousel, Question assets. It is not possible to open a subscreen within a subscreen so using these types of assets will reset the course when you reach the topic containing the subscreen
- When viewing the course a Subscreen will close when the available screen size changes significantly. E.g. switching from portrait to landscape on a mobile device
- Ensure Subscreen type value is populated for ALL subscreens. Leaving this as Select... can reset the course when you reach the topic containing the subscreen
- The Popup subscreen type has a max width of 600px
