How do I use the OpenAI powered Asset translation feature? Follow
We’re excited to announce our new OpenAI powered Asset translation feature!
The OpenAI integration is offered as a resource to our customers that have their own OpenAI corporate account and not intended to be used with free or public instances of OpenAI.
Gomo has always had strong support for creating a single course containing multiple languages, where the learner can simply switch between languages as they move through the course.
Until now, translations had to be done manually, either directly in the Gomo editor by the learning designer, or by using Gomo's single-click translation export feature to send the content (XLIFF) to a translation agency.
This new feature adds the option of Generative AI for naturalistic translation of text elements for quick translation updates in a large number of languages and regional variations.
Pricing and more information on Use of generative AI in Gomo please see this article: https://community.gomolearning.com/hc/en-us/articles/27096860843411-Use-of-generative-AI-in-Gomo
To get started:
Step 1
Add the API keys from your OpenAI subscription to the Gomo integrations tab (only the Account Owner can see this).
Step 2
Select your course languages and add a language selector in the quick start wizard.
The process of creating such a course is simplicity itself. The course wizard sets up the structure of the course and allows authors to select the default language and all of the secondary languages to be supported:
Add in a ‘language selector’ at the third step in the new course wizard, so that learners have a way of switching languages:
Step 3
Create your content in the default language of the course.
Build your course content as usual adding in text, images, video and all other Gomo assets until your ‘Default language’ course is complete.
Step 4
When you‘re ready to translate your course, you can still translate each screen manually or via our existing XLIFF export/import methods, but now you have the addition of OpenAI translation!
To translate using OpenAI, it’s as easy as selecting the appropriate language layer, selecting the asset to be translated and clicking the translate to button in the properties panel as seen below:
