Why won't my video and audio files autoplay? Follow
Gomo's Video Player and Audio Player assets both have an Autoplay option which on desktop browsers (and some tablets/smartphones) will allow the audio or video to play automatically when the learner accesses a screen or subscreen.
However, many browsers and iOS devices have now blocked this feature when content initially loads.
For a Gomo course, this will prevent Autoplay from working when Audio/Video assets are present in the launch screen of the course. The learner will need to select play on the audio/video asset to play content on the launch screen. Any Audio/Video assets further in the course will then play automatically if the option is ticked
More details relating to are available in this article but to summarise:
"In Safari on iOS (for all devices, including iPad), where the user may be on a cellular network and be charged per data unit, preload and autoplay are disabled. No data is loaded until the user initiates it."
