Media Asset - Video Follow
The Video asset allows you to add mp4 content into your projects
- Video and animations must be mp4 files encoded using an h264 codec for widest device support
- Files should be kept as small as possible as they can make your apps very large if not compressed correctly and generally we'd recommend the video being 480x320 as it still looks good when scaled up but keeps the file size down
- When uploading a video an image thumbnail should be uploaded to go with it. This will be displayed at 100% and when clicked it will launch the video full screen
Setup
- Add a Video asset to a screen in your project. Find the Video asset in the ‘Media’ list & drag the asset into a content block in the screen
- This will create an Video asset. The asset will contain a default Gomo mp4 file
- Add your own mp4 file to the asset by selecting the 3 dot icon next to the Video filename field in Video Player Properties
- You can either use the Resources tab to search/select an Audio file that has been uploaded to your Shared Content folder
- Or you can use the Upload tab to search/drag&drop a file from your computer directly into the project
- Use the Closed Captions option in Sub-Files and Transcript to add subtitles to a video. Please see Related Articles at the bottom of the page for details on this process
- Use the Transcript option in Sub-Files and Transcript to add written information relating to the Video asset. When you view the screen a Transcript option will be linked to the asset
- Use the Media Settings in Video Player Properties to select whether the Video will autoplay, the controls visible to the Learner & the thumbnail image the learner will see when the asset loads
- Use the Video completed actions option to trigger an action when the audio asset finishes
